Payroll Accountant (Contract till July 27)

Are you an accounting professional with experience in payroll accounting, wage analysis, and financial reporting looking for your next opportunity? Foot Locker Asia Pacific is seeking a Payroll Accountant to join our team on a fixed-term contract until July 2027 as a leave cover.

In this role, you will be responsible for recording payroll-related activities in the General Ledger, ensuring accuracy, and maintaining reconciled accounts. You'll also support wage budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and analysis while partnering with key stakeholders across the business.

• Manage month-end and year-end payroll accounting activities, including accruals and journal entries
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for payroll-related accounts
• Deliver wage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Provide KPI reporting and workforce cost insights to business stakeholders
• Calculate and reconcile bonus payments and other wage-related costs
• Support audits and ensure compliance with SOX and internal controls
• Partner with HR, FP&A, Payroll Operations, and other teams on payroll-related accounting matters
• Identify process improvements and efficiency opportunities

• 3–5 years' experience in accounting, management accounting, financial analysis, or a similar role
• Experience with payroll accounting, wage reconciliations, workforce cost analysis, and payroll-related financial reporting
• Understanding of payroll data and how it impacts financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting outcomes
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience handling large data sets
• Advanced Excel skills
• Highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
