4x4 Product and Accessories Installation Person

About the Role

Mick Tighe 4x4 & Outdoor is looking for a 4x4 Product & Accessories Installer to join our experienced workshop team in Toowoomba.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working on 4WD vehicles, takes pride in the quality of their workmanship and has an interest in the 4x4, touring and outdoor industry.

You will be responsible for fitting a wide range of aftermarket 4x4 products and accessories, from individual accessory installations through to complete touring and vehicle builds.

Previous 4x4 accessory fitting experience would be highly regarded; however, we are also interested in people with strong mechanical, auto-electrical, fabrication or automotive skills who are keen to develop further within the 4x4 industry.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Fitting bull bars, side steps, side rails and underbody protection

• Installing suspension upgrades and related components

• Fitting canopies, roof racks, platforms and storage systems

• Installing tow bars and towing accessories

• Fitting driving lights and other 12V accessories

• Installing UHF radios, antennas and communications equipment

• Installing dual battery and power management systems

• Fitting brake controllers and towing electrical systems

• Installing snorkels and other vehicle-specific accessories

• Fitting touring, camping and outdoor accessories

• Assembly and installation of our range of 4x4 products

• Completing larger vehicle and touring builds involving multiple accessories

• Carrying out quality checks on completed installations

• Ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard

• Taking care when working on customers' vehicles

• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe workshop environment

• Working closely with our workshop and sales teams to ensure jobs are completed correctly and on time

About You

We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience working with vehicles, mechanical components or automotive accessories

• Has strong practical and problem-solving skills

• Takes pride in producing high-quality workmanship

• Has excellent attention to detail

• Can safely and confidently use hand and power tools

• Can follow installation instructions, job requirements and workshop procedures

• Works well as part of a team

• Is reliable, organised and takes responsibility for their work

• Has a genuine interest in 4WDs, touring and the outdoor industry

• Understands the importance of looking after customers' vehicles

• Holds a current Australian driver's licence

Experience in 4x4 accessory fitting, automotive mechanical work, auto electrical, fabrication or a similar trade will be highly regarded.
