Junior Production Assistant for Fish Farm and Nursery

Initially we would like a 3 month probation period, where you would be paid the casual rate per hour (which is decided on age) and then move onto a Permanent position from there.

Please understand that we are looking for someone wanting a long term role, as training is very time consuming and costly to small businesses. We are not just looking for anyone as a fill in, it is not worth our or their efforts.

We are a small family business looking for the right person to join our team. The role will be diverse and dynamic and the ability to adapt is an advantage.

You will be working Monday to Friday 38 hours per week. You may be required to work overtime and some weekends (rarely) when required. Standard hours are 8.30am to 5pm.

Please note: This role will be physically demanding, and we are looking for someone who is committed, hardworking and is willing to learn all roles associated with this position to join our small team.

Successful applicant will be involved in all aspects of aquaculture production and maintenance, so you need to be flexible, eager to learn and practical.

You must have a passion / genuine interest in aquaculture. Previous experience would be an advantage but is not essential.

You must be physically fit (heavy lifting involved),

You should enjoy working outdoors, in all weather.

You would need to be able to work unsupervised and be able to complete set tasks as instructed or written.

Duties may include but are not limited to:

· Working outdoors

· Fish Handling, husbandry, and breeding

· Plant production

· Pest & Disease Management – under supervision

· Watering

· Planting

· Picking, packing, and loading Stock

· Working in a small team

· Delivering Stock – as required

Minimum Wages apply for this role initially, and there will be a 3-month probation..

Licence and transport are required. We are based in Haynes/Armadale and not near public transport.

This is 100% outside work! You get dirty!!

Pay: $40,000.00 – $50,000.00 per year
