About the opportunity  

Following a strategic re‑organisation of our divisional structure, we are excited to offer the role of Employment Compliance Analyst to join the Pay and Employment Compliance Team within the People and Wellbeing Division. 

In this important role, you will help strengthen the University's compliance with employment legislation and industrial instruments while supporting fair and consistent employment practices. 

Working within a complex and highly regulated environment, you will analyse employment data, interpret industrial and legislative requirements, and contribute to compliance reviews, audits, investigations and reporting activities. You will play a key role in identifying risks, supporting corrective actions, and helping develop practical controls and processes that promote compliant employment practices across the University. 

Partnering with colleagues across Workplace Relations and the broader People & Wellbeing Division, you will translate complex employment requirements into practical advice, guidance and resources that support informed decision-making and capability uplift throughout the employee lifecycle.

What you’ll do: 

• Analyse employment and workforce data to identify compliance risks, trends and opportunities for improvement  
• Support audits, reviews and compliance assurance activities across the University  
• Prepare accurate reporting, documentation and governance materials to support internal and external obligations  
• Interpret employment legislation, industrial instruments and compliance requirements to inform operational practice  
• Contribute to improvements in systems, processes and controls that reduce employment compliance risk  
• Develop guidance, training and communication materials that support stakeholder understanding of employment obligations  

What we’re looking for: 

• Experience analysing workforce or employment data within legislative, regulatory or industrial frameworks  
• Knowledge of Australian employment legislation, modern awards and enterprise agreements  
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and provide practical recommendations  
• Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to explain complex requirements to non-specialist audiences  
• Experience preparing reports, compliance documentation, dashboards or governance materials  
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work with accuracy in a complex environment  

Salary details 

Appointment to this role will be at HEO 6 and will have a total remuneration package of up to $116,872 comprising base salary within the range of $92,120 to $99,891 plus 17% superannuation.
