At Air-Met Scientific, we’re seeking a dedicated and reliable Junior Service Technician or Apprentice to join our team in Mackay. This full-time position offers competitive compensation, a supportive work environment, and great training opportunities for professional growth and development.

The Opportunity

As a Junior Service Technician, you’ll play a crucial role in our team, actively engaging with our customers and taking on a range of responsibilities, including:

• Servicing, maintaining, calibrating, and repairing handheld and fixed scientific instruments.
• Managing customer relationships and providing equipment and application support.
• Traveling to customer sites to install, commission, inspect, and repair gas detection and environmental monitoring equipment.
• In this role, and with comprehensive training provided, you’ll be responsible for conducting service repairs, maintenance, and calibration on a variety of occupational health, safety, and environmental monitoring equipment. Additionally, you’ll have the chance to showcase your communication skills by offering technical support and solutions to customers and colleagues while managing your own time effectively.

About You:

We’re looking for candidates who possess the following qualities and qualifications:

• Willingness to embrace practical training and development opportunities and implement learnings.
• Ability to quickly grasp technical information and a desire to continually expand your knowledge.
• A desire to gain TAFE qualifications in instrumentation would be advantageous.
• Friendly, proactive, and professional personality with excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and customer relationship management skills are preferred.
• A strong work ethic and the ability to work independently.
• Enthusiasm for speaking with customers, building relationships, and providing value to customer solutions.
• Ability to pass a medical examination and routine drug and alcohol testing on customer sites.
• Full COVID-19 vaccination.
