Your OpportunityWe currently have an excellent opportunity for a driven and detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team based in Sydney on a fulltime permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for an accounting professional who is motivated to learn, grow and build a long-term career in finance. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller within a supportive and collaborative environment, your primary responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Financial Accounting:Processing accounts payable and receivableAssisting with bank reconciliationsProcessing of corporate credit card claims and ensuring expenditure aligns with internal policiesAssist with commissions code setup and maintenanceTracking significant vendor expenses to identify trends and upcoming contract renewalsAssist with month-end accounting duties
Miscellaneous:Continuous review and development of department processes to improve efficiencies, enhance value of outputs, and reduce operational riskLiaise with and manage expectations of internal stakeholders including Advisers, support staff, senior management and external parties as requiredAssist the Financial Controller in ad hoc projects and strategic initiatives
About You:1 to 2 years of experience with accounts payableWorking knowledge of Fringe Benefit TaxIntermediate Microsoft Office skillsCompleted Bachelor of Accounting or other related degreeStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent attention to detail and accuracyGood communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively in a team environmentEnthusiasm for learning and professional development
