ABOUT 2K PASTURE MANAGEMENT
2K Pasture management is a family-owned business and a driving force to develop and promote best management strategies in the weed control space for the pastoral and commercial forestry industries from the Lockyer Valley to Central Queensland. We provide innovative and integrated weed management solutions to manage woody, noxious and nuisance weeds for grazing, riparian, environmentally sensitive, commercial and forestry situations.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As our business is growing, we have opportunities for a Weed Controller to join our highly motivated team conducting weed management projects on a flexible 9-on, 5-off roster FIFO/DIDO from south-east Queensland to Central Queensland. Weed Controllers are required to work within a team to complete projects that may involve high volume spraying, low volume spraying, basal barking, cut stump application and stem injection of weeds in a variety of situations. Immediate start available.

At 2K Pasture Management, we are looking for hardworking and friendly applicants who are positive and have a “can-do” attitude. You will need to follow instructions and protocols, and you will be happy to ask questions when you do not understand or need more information. Showing initiative is valued, as is excellent communication, eye for detail, problem solving skills and good old-fashioned common sense. The ability to work as part of a team is essential, and 2K Pasture Management cultivates a safe, positive and encouraging work culture.
Responsibilities may include:
· Weed control operations in a variety of pastoral, agricultural, commercial and silvicultural situations including high volume, basal barking, stem injecting, cut stump, boom spraying
· Maintaining a safe workplace, including keeping OHS records
· Supporting the Technical Manager and Maintenance Supervisor
· Maintaining accurate spray operations records
· Research and Development activities when required
Desirable Skills:
· Australian driver’s licence
· Australian Chemical Users Permit (ACDC) or ability to obtain
· Chainsaw ticket – or willing to obtain in the future
· Spray application experience – advantage but not essential
· The ability to work semi-autonomously
· MR or HR driving license – or willing to obtain in the future
· Positive attitude – essential to maintain workplace culture
We require resourceful applicants who have an eye for detail and the ability to undertake work that can be physically strenuous at times. Please note this position is primarily 9 days on and 5 days off, FIFO/DIDO from southeast Qld, often working in isolated or remote locations.
