Looking for something a little different from the traditional consultancy environment?
We’re working with a
new and rapidly growing engineering business that has been operating for around 3–4 months. Backed by an experienced engineering professional with a strong consultancy background, the business provides structural engineering solutions across the full project lifecycle - from design and technical engineering through to construction.
This is
not your typical consultancy role, and it won’t be for everyone. But for the right person, it offers the chance to have genuine influence, gain valuable construction exposure and grow alongside a business from the ground up.
The Role We’re looking for an
Intermediate Structural Engineer with 3–5+ years of local experience.
You’ll work across a mix of
commercial and industrial projects, with approximately
40% office-based engineering and 60% site-based work.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Structural design and engineering across commercial and industrial projects
- Working across concrete, post-tensioning and steel structures
- Providing technical input throughout the project lifecycle
- Attending sites and gaining hands-on exposure to construction
- Working closely with the business owner and project teams
- Coordinating engineering solutions from design through to construction
- Contributing to the growth and development of a young business
Benefits to you: - $120k - $130k plus Super
-
40% office / 60% site – ideal for someone who enjoys getting out of the office
- Very flexible WFH options
- Strong exposure to both engineering and construction
- Commercial and industrial project exposure
- Work directly with an experienced engineering professional
- Fuel allowance available
- Genuine opportunity to influence the direction of a growing business
- Opportunity to grow with the company rather than joining an established corporate structure
About You - 3–5+ years of local structural engineering experience
- Australian consultancy experience
- A degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
- Strong structural engineering fundamentals
- Exposure to concrete, steel and/or post-tensioned structures
- An interest in construction and site-based work
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- A willingness to work in a small, entrepreneurial environment
- Your own vehicle, due to the site-based nature of the role
The Opportunity
This role is
genuinely different from a traditional consultancy position. The business is extremely small, so you’ll have direct access to the owner, significant responsibility from day one and the opportunity to help shape how the business develops.
If you’re someone who wants to combine
structural engineering, construction exposure, flexibility and above-market earning potential, this could be an opportunity worth exploring.
