What you’ll be doing:

The NSW Rural Fire Service is looking for an Operational Officer Level 2 to join the District Learning and Development team in the Lower Hunter.

In this role, you will help plan, coordinate and support training for RFS members, ensuring volunteers and staff have the skills, qualifications and confidence to respond safely and effectively to bush fires and other emergencies.

You will play an important role in building volunteer capability, supporting local training programs and helping brigades remain equipped, trained and ready to respond.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

• Coordinating training for RFS members and volunteers, including course scheduling, enrolments, records and local training calendars. 
• Supporting volunteers and staff to understand training requirements, learning pathways and skill development opportunities. 
• Working with trainers, assessors, brigade leaders and district staff to deliver operational and non-operational training. 
• Maintaining accurate training records and supporting compliance with RFS training and qualification requirements. 
• Helping organise assessments, confirm trainer availability and respond to volunteer training enquiries. 
• Supporting operational readiness by ensuring members are trained, capable and prepared to respond safely. 
• Contributing to broader district activities, including operational, administrative and preparedness support when required.
