Recruitment Consultant - Volunteer Engagement (part-time contract)

ABOUT THE ORGANISATION

Australian Business Volunteers (ABV) builds on Australia’s long history of volunteering both across our region and at home. We work at the intersection between business and community-led resilience and growth. ABV is a team highly skilled development experts, based in Australia and across the Pacific region.

We utilise the skills and expertise of our pool of several hundred Skilled Business Professional (SBP) volunteers and numerous corporate partners. Together we source community-led opportunities and deliver impactful corporate social responsibility programs and grant funded development programs. We continue to build on our 40-year legacy of delivering lasting community-led change.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

This is a part-time contract role to cover a period of high-demand for recruitment of volunteers.
Reporting to the Head of Volunteering, the Recruitment Consultant will work alongside our existing team on the engagement of ABV’s Skilled Business Professionals (SBPs), supporting the recruitment, selection, onboarding, mobilisation, assignment experience and debrief of volunteers across ABV’s Australian programs.

You are a relationship-focused people and capability professional who will thrive helping volunteers to succeed in skilled assignments. You have strong stakeholder engagement skills, able to build volunteer industry and community networks to support a growing pipeline. You are able to balance with practical delivery, managing detail across established processes to ensure a well-coordinated volunteer experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Volunteer recruitment and registration in line with agreed screening, interview, reference checking and onboarding requirements.

• Candidate selection to appropriately match to the Terms of Reference and candidate profile required by community partners.

• Oversee a consistent end-to-end volunteer journey from initial engagement and recruitment through onboarding, assignment and debrief.

• Creation of compelling job ads and promotional content to actively source high-calibre professionals.

• Maintain a customer-first mindset, always striving to delivery outstanding service to volunteers and community partners.
  

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential Requirements

• Qualifications in a relevant field such as employment services, people and culture, volunteer management, community development or a related discipline.

• At least 2 years’ experience working with volunteers and/or volunteer agencies, including experience across recruitment, engagement and volunteer management.

• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships across the organisation and with volunteers and external partners.

• A customer-first mindset, always striving to deliver outstanding service.

• Strong project and process management skills, with experience implementing and improving systems and ways of working.

• Demonstrated ability to analyse data and feedback, identify trends and translate insights into practical improvements.

• Strong systems capability and high-level IT skills.

 Desired requirements

• Personal commitment to volunteering and community-led development.

• Understanding of the operating environments for small business, not-for-profit or community groups.

Mandatory requirements

• Satisfactory National Police Check

• Hold a current Working With Children Check or willing to obtain

Location:            Work from home, based in any state

Role type:           Part-time, equivalent to two days per week

Start date:           Immediate start; to be mutually agreed.
