The opportunity:
Marsdens are currently looking for a third or fourth year Law student to join our Commercial Dispute Resolution Department at our Campbelltown office.
We expect that the successful applicant to:
Be a third and fourth year Law Clerk or Graduate.
Be able to work a minimum of 3 days per week;
Be a robust and resilient problem solver who is prepared to develop into a strong advocate for our clients;
Have a flexible and an innovative approach to developing our practice while working closely with experienced litigators;
Have excellent written and oral communication skills;
Have a strong work ethic, ability to provide high quality client service, excellent attention to detail and effective time management skills;
Be a committed team player who is also capable of working autonomously.
Key responsibilities:
Liaising with clients;
Preparation of correspondence, court documents, statements and subpoenas;
Attending court and settlements;
Legal research and court filing as required;
Extensive file and document management;
Proactively manage solicitor and client requests/inquires where possible;
Providing a high level of support to professional staff within the team in relation to carriage of their matters.
