Project Manager - Investment Data - Asset Management - 12-month contract

Our client is a leading funds management asset owner based in Melbourne. They are seeking an experienced Project Manager with extensive funds management projects experience, ideally within Investment data to join their firm for an initial 12-month contract. 

Our client has embarked on an ambitious transformation journey over the past few years, significantly enhancing its investment data and technology capabilities. As part of this transformation, they have established their Investment Data function, which includes three key teams: Data Operations and Change, Data Governance and Experience, Relationship and Business Unit Management.

As well as managing the end-to-end lifecycle of the investment data, the Data Operations and Change team also manages the delivery of new investment data and investment technology services and capabilities to our investment teams, through a cross-Agency pillar engagement model.

An exciting opportunity is offered to an investment data professional who has outstanding Project Management capabilities to step into an important role within the ID function, focusing on implementing cutting-edge investment data solutions. In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with the ID function and external project teams.

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver a key projects for the Investment Data Management team which will uplift core capabilities

Responsibilities:

·         Understand the IDM project objectives and requirements to ensure the right context is applied to all activities.

·         Define project scope including project objectives, outputs and outcomes that support business objectives, working in collaboration with the project sponsors and stakeholders.

·         Work with the Project Sponsor(s) to identify and define project success criteria and communicate them to project stakeholders and other interested parties.

·         Develop, document and maintain the requisite project plan and schedule that clearly defines the project phases, key activities, timeframes and roles and responsibilities.

Establish project budgets for submission to the Project Management Office (“PMO”) and Senior Leadership Team (“SLT”) as required.

·         Establish and manage the project controls to ensure that the project is progressing on track and delivering outputs consistent with the agreed project scope and plan/schedule.

·         Identify and escalate project risks, and co-ordinate the development and implementation of effective risk mitigation strategies.

·         Actively liaise with project stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle to ensure they are engaged, that their input is being sought and their expectations are being managed.

Qualifications / Experience:

 ·         Experience of managing various funds management projects, for medium to large organisations.

·         Responsible for day-to-day operations of a function or project for a corporate organisation.

·         Experience of working with internal functions to deliver effective communication and change management to wide range of stakeholders; and

· Demonstrated experience and knowledge of project and program management methodology and techniques.

·         Able to guide project members through the project lifecycle, able to support them in the use of project management tools and to motivate them to achieve project objectives.

·         Able to guide project members through the project lifecycle, supporting them in the use of the Agency’s project management tools and to motivate them to achieve project objectives.

·         Has ability to collaborate with stakeholders, build relationships and engage across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Has the experience and skills to deal with and address conflicts, seeking resolution from the project sponsor as required
