Summary:
We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Royalties Administrator to join our Finance team at Hachette Australia. This role plays an important part in managing author royalties, advances and sub-rights income, while working closely with publishers, authors, agents and other teams across the business. It’s a varied role suited to someone who enjoys working with numbers and systems, takes pride in accuracy, and is confident managing processes and relationships from start to finish. Administrative experience is essential, with royalties or publishing experience highly regarded.

About the role:
Our Royalty Administrator is responsible for ensuring our Authors are paid accurately and on time. This needs them to be able to interpret contractors and correctly record them in our Royalties software in order to calculate their earnings. This will suit somebody with high attention to detail, strong organizational skills and an enthusiasm for publishing. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will:
About You:
You have good attention to detail, as this is required to correctly identify and interpret terms within Author contracts to ensure they are correctly set up in the Royalties System. You have strong organizational skills to manage a high volume of transactions, which include royalties, subsidiary rights and advances. You learn quickly, taking notes to support and reinforce your understanding or systems and processes. You can use your intuition to problem-solve where there are new challenges. You may have Publishing or Legal related experience, but this is not strictly necessary.
You must already have full working rights in Australia and be based in Sydney – no visa sponsorship is available.
