Chemistry Teacher

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Chemistry Teacher to join the Science team. This opportunity is ideally suited to an educator who inspires young people through scientific inquiry and who has demonstrated experience teaching International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme Chemistry. This role requires a deep commitment to student-centred learning, curriculum innovation and assessment best practices.  

This is a full-time position commencing in Term 1, 2027, initially offered on a 12-month contract, however a permanent contract may be considered for the right candidate.

Duties and responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:

• Teach Chemistry while fostering a positive and motivating classroom environment 
• Deliver outstanding teaching and learning so that every student is challenged, makes progress and thrives in a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
• Commit to knowing students well, ensuring that learning is personalised so students can take their own next step in their learning progress
• Continuously seek-out innovation, trying new teaching and learning strategies in the classroom and contribute to a culture of experimentation
• Skilfully integrate learning technology into practice, selecting the most appropriate tools to enhance the learning experience
   

What do I need to succeed?

• Teaching qualification
• Demonstrated experience teaching secondary Chemistry, including the IB Diploma Programme.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A passion for creativity and innovation in teaching
• A valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) Registration
