DevOps Engineer – Azure & GitHub MigrationJob SummaryWe are looking for a skilled DevOps Engineer with strong experience in Microsoft Azure, GitHub, CI/CD, and GitHub repository migration. The candidate will be responsible for migrating source code and repositories from legacy version-control platforms to GitHub, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and supporting Azure-based DevOps environments.Key ResponsibilitiesPlan and execute GitHub repository migration from platforms such as Bitbucket, GitLab, Azure DevOps, SVN, or other legacy systems.Migrate source code, branches, tags, commit history, pull requests, and repository configurations.Perform repository assessment, migration planning, validation, and post-migration support.Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.Manage GitHub Organizations, repositories, teams, permissions, branch protection, and access controls.Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Bash, or Python.Work with Microsoft Azure services and infrastructure.Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or ARM/Bicep.Integrate GitHub with Azure services for automated build, deployment, and release processes.Implement DevSecOps practices including code scanning, secret management, dependency scanning, and security controls.Troubleshoot build, deployment, repository migration, and pipeline issues.Collaborate with developers, architects, security teams, and infrastructure teams during migration activities.Prepare migration documentation, runbooks, and technical procedures.Required SkillsStrong experience in DevOps and CI/CDHands-on experience with Microsoft AzureStrong knowledge of Git and GitHubExperience in GitHub Repository MigrationExperience with GitHub ActionsKnowledge of Azure DevOpsExperience with Terraform / Infrastructure as CodeStrong scripting skills in PowerShell, Bash, or PythonKnowledge of branching strategies, pull requests, merge strategies, and Git workflowsExperience with repository security, permissions, and branch protectionGood understanding of DevSecOps practicesGitHub Migration SkillsGitHub Enterprise / GitHub Enterprise CloudRepository migration and consolidationGitHub Importer / migration toolsGit migration from SVN, Bitbucket, GitLab, and Azure DevOpsRepository history and metadata migrationBranch and tag migrationLarge File Storage (Git LFS)GitHub Organizations and TeamsRepository permissions and access managementBranch protection rulesGitHub Actions migration and pipeline conversionMigration validation and post-migration supportAzure SkillsAzure DevOpsAzure Kubernetes Service (AKS)Azure Container Registry (ACR)Azure App ServicesAzure Key VaultAzure StorageAzure Virtual MachinesAzure MonitorAzure Resource ManagerAzure networking basicsPreferred QualificationsExperience with GitHub Enterprise migration projectsExperience migrating from Azure DevOps to GitHubKnowledge of GitHub ActionsExperience with TerraformUnderstanding of Azure security and identity servicesExperience working in large enterprise migration programsRelevant Azure/GitHub/DevOps certifications are an advantage.Experience6–10 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, or Platform Engineering, with hands-on experience in Azure and GitHub migration.
