About the role
Employment type: Permanent, Full-Time Location: Karnup, WA Reports to: Operational Supervisor
About Camelot Pet Resort
Camelot Pet Resort provides a trustworthy and reliable service operating every day of the year. We provide pet accommodation and services for cats and dogs, priding ourselves on quality customer care.
This is an autonomous, hands-on role — the Resort Manager runs day-to-day operations independently on site, with support and escalation available from the operations team, and is suited to someone confident running a site largely on their own initiative.
About the Role
Our fantastic team is on the search for a hardworking, passionate and experienced Resort Manager to join our team. The Resort Manager performs and supervises duties in technical animal care, office routines, and customer relations. You'll maintain the boarding facility's appearance and general housekeeping to provide a comfortable, professional boarding environment, always complying with Health and Safety requirements.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Overseeing all resort staff on policies and procedures
Ensuring the well-being of pets through detailed attention to feeding, behaviour, exercise, cleanliness and comfort as per client requests
Creating a positive and memorable client experience by exceeding customer expectations and actively increasing customer loyalty
Implementing new procedures and discussing strategies with the leadership team
Staff recruitment and training
Maintaining efficient staffing and rostering
Conducting staff performance reviews as required
Ensuring WHS requirements are implemented and abided by
Regular assessment of the property and reporting maintenance requirements
Financial reports including completing end-of-day items
Stock ordering and maintaining stock take
Essential Requirements
3–5 years of experience leading a team
Superior customer service skills, including face-to-face and written communication
Commitment to work weekends and holiday periods (incl. Christmas Day and New Year's Day)
Full Australian working rights
Current driver's license and vehicle access (Camelot is not well served by public transport — you'll need your own transport to site)
Comfortable with the physical demands of the role — regular standing, walking, bending, and lifting, and working outdoors in all weather
A proactive, "can do" attitude with a strong focus on customer service, pet welfare, and facility cleanliness
Confidence working autonomously, with limited on-site backup
Bonus points if you have
A qualification in Companion Animal Services (or similar), or farm/large animal experience
Dog training or behavioural knowledge
A management degree or certificate
Confidence with booking/reservation systems
A love of learning and teaching others
Enjoys creative problem solving with the confidence to share and execute with leadership
