Clearance Agent

What You'll Be Responsible For

As a Clearance Agent, your success will be measured by your ability to facilitate the smooth and timely clearance of import and export shipments while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

• Review and validate customs documentation, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, permits, and declarations.
• Prepare and submit accurate customs declarations within required timeframes.
• Liaise with customs authorities and other regulatory bodies to ensure shipments move efficiently through the clearance process.
• Partner with customers, freight forwarders, and internal stakeholders to obtain information, resolve clearance issues, and minimise delays.
• Investigate and resolve customs-related exceptions and compliance issues.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory and FedEx requirements.
• Stay informed of changes to customs regulations, trade agreements, and tariff requirements.
• Work closely with Operations, Customer Service, and Sales teams to deliver a seamless customer experience.

• Experience in customs clearance, freight forwarding, logistics, international trade, or a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of customs regulations and compliance requirements.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Good computer literacy, including Microsoft Office applications.
• A customer-focused mindset with strong problem-solving capability.
