About the role
This is a full-time (35 hours week), 18month contract opportunity (with the view to extend), where you can be based at any PSP site across NSW including; Port Macquarie, Coffs Harbour, North Parramatta or Dubbo.
Whilst the position will be based at one of the above sites across NSW, this is a statewide role where you will be supporting carers across NSW. There will be an occasional need for travel across the state.
We’re looking for someone who’s not just passionate about supporting carers—but someone who knows how to find the right people to care for children who need it most. As a Carer Engagement and Support Consultant, you’ll be right at the heart of building, supporting, and sustaining a strong network of foster carers.
This isn’t just a desk job. You’ll be out in the community, assessing and connecting with potential carers, delivering training, helping navigate challenges, and walking alongside carers as they support some of the most vulnerable children and young people.
As part of Uniting’s Carer Engagement and Support team, you’ll play a vital role in foster carer recruitment and engagement, ensuring that children and young people are matched with capable, nurturing carers.
You’ll be part of a warm, committed team, supported with clinical supervision, statewide forums, and professional development opportunities.
You’re confident, compassionate, and proactive. You understand the importance of finding and keeping the right carers, and you thrive in a role that blends autonomy with collaboration. You’re comfortable working in homes, at events, and in tough conversations— and you bring energy, humour and resilience to everything you do.
