About the Role

We are looking for a Project Management / Detailing Coordinator with experience in the construction industry to join our growing team in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs.

This role would suit someone with experience in steel framing, drafting, detailing, construction or project coordination, particularly someone who has experience using Vertex BD or similar drafting/BIM software.

You will work closely with engineers, estimators, production teams, builders and other project stakeholders to ensure projects are accurately detailed, coordinated and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Prepare and coordinate detailed steel framing layouts and models.
• Review plans and identify design or construction issues.
• Coordinate with engineers, estimators and production teams.
• Manage project revisions, updates and documentation.
• Assist with basic quantity take-offs and estimating when required.
• Communicate with builders, architects and consultants to resolve queries.
• Monitor project progress and ensure deadlines are met.
• Ensure drawings and documentation are accurate and suitable for fabrication and installation.
• Assist with general project coordination from design through to production.

Skills & Experience

• Experience in construction, drafting, detailing or project coordination.
• Strong ability to read and interpret architectural and structural drawings.
• Understanding of residential construction and framing systems.
• Experience with drafting/BIM software such as Vertex BD, Revit, AutoCAD or similar.
• Vertex BD experience is highly desirable, however training may be provided to the right candidate.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year experience in detailing or construction – required.
• Minimum 1 year residential construction experience – required.
• Driver Licence – preferred.
• White Card – preferred.
• Australian working rights – required.
• Must be based in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs or be willing to reliably commute to the Western Suburbs.
• Vertex BD experience is highly desirable.
