Eaton Recreation Centre (ERC) is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Gym Supervisor to help lead our 24/7 fitness facility and support our mission of "Everyone Active, Moving More, Living More."

Working closely with the Coordinator Fitness, you'll play an important role in the day-to-day leadership of our gym operations, supporting our Fitness Coaches and Personal Trainers while delivering high-quality fitness programs and exceptional customer experiences.

This position is 12 hours per week and may be undertaken in conjunction with additional Fitness Coach hours for the right candidate.

About the Role

As Gym Supervisor, you will help create a safe, welcoming and engaging environment that encourages member participation, retention and positive health outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the daily operations of our 24/7 gym facility.

• Leading, mentoring and coordinating Fitness Coaches and Personal Trainers.

• Developing and delivering fitness programs, challenges, campaigns and member engagement initiatives.

• Assisting with staff rostering, recruitment, induction and workforce planning.

• Driving membership growth through retention strategies, community engagement and promotional initiatives.

• Monitoring equipment, coordinating maintenance and managing stock control requirements.

• Completing operational reporting, attendance monitoring and administrative tasks.

• Championing exceptional customer service across all member interactions.

• Contributing to continuous improvement and service excellence initiatives.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential Requirements

• Certificate III and IV in Fitness.

• Experience working within a gym, fitness centre or recreation facility.

• Experience supervising, coordinating or mentoring staff.

• Demonstrated ability to develop exercise programs and member engagement initiatives.

• Strong understanding of fitness industry trends, exercise programming and membership retention strategies.

• Experience preparing and maintaining staff rosters.

• Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.

• Initiative, problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to work.

• Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including mornings, evenings and occasional Saturday mornings.

Highly Regarded

• Experience in a local government or community recreation environment.

• Experience contributing to membership growth and marketing initiatives.

• First Aid and CPR qualifications.
