About Us
We are an exciting new African fine dining restaurant in Canberra, bringing authentic African cuisine, culture, and hospitality to our community. We are looking for a passionate and reliable Cook to join our growing team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook authentic African dishes to a high standard.
• Assist with menu preparation and daily food production.
• Ensure food is prepared safely and in accordance with food safety standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients.
• Work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
• Ensure consistent food quality and presentation.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience as a cook or chef (African cuisine experience preferred).
• Knowledge of African cooking techniques, spices, and traditional dishes.
• Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, organised, and able to work under pressure.

Desirable

• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent).
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate.
• Experience with dishes such as jollof rice, fufu, egusi, pepper soup, suya, grilled fish, goat dishes, and other authentic African cuisine.
