WE'RE HIRING – LEADING HAND ARBORIST

Townsville, QLD | Full-Time, Permanent

$93,600 – $114,400 per year + superannuation

Established in 2007, Skilled Trees Services is a family-owned, QAA Approved Contractor based in Townsville.

We're looking for an experienced and motivated Leading Hand Arborist who takes pride in quality workmanship, knows how to lead a crew, and wants to build a long-term career with a professional arboriculture company.

This is an opportunity to take on a key role within our team, working across a diverse range of government, commercial and residential projects throughout the Townsville region.

About the Role

As a Leading Hand Arborist, you'll take responsibility for the safe and efficient delivery of tree works while providing leadership and direction to your crew.

Your role will include:

• Leading and supervising tree crews on site

• Planning and coordinating daily works

• Ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard

• Carrying out and overseeing tree pruning and removals in accordance with Australian Standards and industry best practice

• Undertaking tree climbing, EWP and ground-based arboricultural operations as required

• Coordinating safe rigging and dismantling operations

• Conducting pre-starts, site assessments and safety checks

• Ensuring plant, equipment and vehicles are operated and maintained correctly

• Communicating professionally with clients, management and other stakeholders

• Mentoring and developing less-experienced crew members

• Maintaining a safe, organised and productive worksite

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can combine strong arboricultural skills with the ability to lead by example.

Ideally, you'll have:

• Demonstrated experience in arboriculture and tree operations

• Previous experience as a Leading Hand, Crew Leader or Senior Arborist

• Strong knowledge of professional tree pruning and removal techniques

• Ability to perform and supervise pruning in accordance with AS 4373 – Pruning of Amenity Trees

• Sound knowledge of safe tree removal, rigging and dismantling techniques

• Strong understanding of WHS requirements and safe work practices

• Ability to lead, motivate and support a crew

• Good communication and problem-solving skills

• Current driver's licence

• Relevant chainsaw competencies

• White Card

• EWP qualifications or experience

• MR/HR licence highly regarded

• Certificate III in Arboriculture or equivalent qualification highly regarded
