Purchasing/Merchandising Assistant

The Position

The Purchasing / Merchandising Assistant is responsible to the Store Manager for the day to day maintenance of store planograms, stock labelling, ranging, promotions and general assistance in retail. You will be responsible for ensuring the retail merchandising space is presented logically, assisting the customer in the selection process.

This role requires cross over with other specialists, managers & customer service support team members within all areas of the Mitre 10 Goulburn operation.

This is a full-time position based onsite at Mitre 10 Goulburn.

Responsibilities

• Lead the upgrade and maintenance of store planograms and perform weekly shop gap scan

• Ensure stock with warehouse excess displays correct tickets and labels are highlighted where stock is.

• Relieve the Purchasing Coordinator in processing Click & Collect special orders during periods of leave

• Relieve the Administration Assistant in staff scheduling and banking duties during periods of leave

• Assist with annual and monthly rolling stocktakes

• Provide a high level of customer service

• Assist in all other departments within the Retail areas as required as well as attend to any other tasks that are assigned

• All sales staff are trained to mix paint and cut keys
  

Experience, Knowledge and Skills

• Minimum 3 years experience in a sales environment, preferably in a similar industry and position

• Experience with maintaining store planograms preferable but not essential

• Sound understanding of the Hardware industry

• High level of computer literacy

• Inventory Control experience

• Ability to cope under pressure and to work to deadlines

• Effective verbal & written communication skills

• Customer sales & service skills
