Job Description

The Finance Officer provides a high level of customer service and performs various duties across the Finance branch, with a focus on Accounts Receivable.

Selection Criteria

Applicants should address the following essential criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total. Desirable criteria will be assessed as required.

Essential

1. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a range of financial accounting functions, including Accounts Payable.
2. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment with limited supervision.
3. Well-developed organisational, analytical and problem solving skills including the ability to identify priorities and meet deadlines.
4. Well-developed verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships and liaise with individuals at all levels.
5. Well-developed computer skills including Financial Management Information System and Microsoft Office Software, specifically Excel (intermediate) and Outlook.
6. Applies and promotes the principles of equity, diversity and work health and safety in the workplace.

Desirable

1. Knowledge of the Financial Management Act (FMA) 2006 and Treasurers’ Instructions.
2. Possession of or progress toward a relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or Commerce would be considered advantageous.
