Overview of the Role

We are seeking a Research Assistant (Level A) to join the Kiernan Group, reporting to Dr Hannah Timmins. This role provides technical, administrative and operational support to the research team, helping to deliver high-quality research activities and clinical trial requirements.

The successful candidate will support the preparation and delivery of research projects and clinical trials, coordinate project activities, collect and manage research data, and work collaboratively with researchers, clinicians and participants to ensure projects run smoothly and efficiently.

Responsibilities of the Role

• Collaborate with doctors, patients and researchers in a face-to-face research environment.
• Conduct and support clinical, research and clinical trial assessments, preparing relevant materials in collaboration with team members.
• Coordinate activities associated with research projects and clinical trials to ensure smooth delivery.
• Collect research data and maintain accurate records using appropriate software and databases.
• Enter, store and assist with the analysis of research data and preparation of reports.
• Maintain and organise research files, records and documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Liaise with clinical specialists, researchers, doctors, patients and other stakeholders.
• Support the preparation of documentation for publications, presentations and research outputs.
• Provide operational and administrative support to the research team, including preparation of reports.
• Undertake ad hoc projects and other duties consistent with the role as required.

To Succeed in this Role, You Will Need

Essential

• Tertiary qualifications or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a busy environment.
• A flexible, proactive approach and strong work ethic.
• The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Well-developed problem-solving skills and initiative in managing day-to-day operational matters.

Desirable

• A background in science, neurology, neuroscience, psychology or a related health discipline.
• Bachelor degree with Honours in Science, Health Psychology, Neuroscience or a related field.
• Experience working in a patient-facing clinical, research or customer service environment.
• Experience with research and data management systems, including SPSS and REDCap.
