DNL BUILDING SERVICES PTY LTD DNL Building Services is seeking an experienced and skilled Bricklayer to join its construction team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will undertake bricklaying and masonry work across a range of building and construction projects, including the construction, repair and maintenance of walls, partitions and other brick and block structures. The position requires strong technical bricklaying skills, accuracy and the ability to work from plans and specifications while maintaining high standards of workmanship and workplace safety.

Benefits Task & responsibilities Study building plans and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions and installation procedures. Set out brick and block work accurately in accordance with construction drawings and project specifications. Erect and dismantle restricted-height scaffolding as required to safely undertake bricklaying works.

Prepare and seal foundations using appropriate damp-resistant materials. Prepare, mix and spread mortar to provide appropriate bases and binders for bricks, blocks and masonry structures. Lay bricks, concrete blocks and other building blocks in rows, patterns, designs and specified configurations.

Spread and apply mortar between joints and embed bricks and blocks securely into mortar. Remove excess mortar and finish joints to achieve the required appearance and structural finish. Check vertical and horizontal alignment of brickwork using appropriate measuring and levelling equipment.

Cut, shape and prepare bricks, blocks and other masonry materials using hand tools and machinery. Shape bricks and blocks to fit corners, openings and irregular spaces in accordance with construction requirements. Construct and repair walls, partitions, arches and other brick and block structures.

Repair and maintain existing brickwork, cement blocks and associated masonry structures. Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, quality requirements and relevant building standards. Maintain tools, equipment and work areas and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements.

Qualification & experience Certificate III in Bricklaying and Blocklaying or an equivalent relevant trade qualification. Relevant practical experience working as a Bricklayer within the building and construction industry. Strong knowledge of bricklaying, blocklaying, mortar preparation and masonry construction techniques.

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings and specifications. Ability to accurately measure, set out and construct brick and block structures. Competence in cutting, shaping and preparing bricks and masonry materials using appropriate hand and power tools.

Strong understanding of levelling, alignment and structural accuracy requirements. Experience constructing and repairing walls, partitions and other brick and block structures. Good knowledge of construction site safety procedures and safe work practices.

High level of attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a construction team. Good time management and organisational skills with the ability to meet project deadlines.

Reliable, physically capable and comfortable working in an active construction environment. Current driver's licence and relevant construction industry licences or tickets are highly regarded.
