About the role
Full-time, 2-year fixed term contract, to align with a government contract.
Therapeutic Guidelines Limited (TGL) is looking for two Editors to join our Publishing team and deliver the next generation of the Remote Primary Health Care Manuals (RPHCM), comprising the CARPA Standard Treatment Manual, Minymaku Kutju Tjukurpa Women’s Business Manual, Clinical Procedures Manual, and Medicines Book for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Practitioners. The Manuals are highly regarded and widely used across central, northern, and remote Australia to support and promote good clinical practice in primary health care.
This is a rare opportunity to build on your clinical experience and contribute to meaningful change beyond the bedside.
Therapeutic Guidelines Limited is an independent, not-for-profit organisation established almost 50 years ago by leading members of the Australian healthcare community. Over time, Therapeutic Guidelines has evolved into Australia’s leading digital healthcare publisher, delivering trusted resources including Therapeutic Guidelines, Australian Prescriber, Don’t Rush to Crush, and ObesiD.
About the roleAs an Editor, you will work closely with remote practitioners and specialists to track, assess and distil practice-changing evidence into clear, practical and accessible clinical protocols for use in remote and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Reporting to the Program Director, you will receive structured and comprehensive orientation and training in our editorial processes, content standards and publishing systems, combining formal skills and process training with experiential learning and regular feedback. You will gradually take on greater responsibility and autonomy, with career development and progression supported at all levels.
You will also have opportunities to contribute to process improvement and innovation, and user engagement.
You are a skilled clinical professional who communicates clearly, manages competing priorities and works constructively with a range of stakeholders. You are committed to evidence-based practice and to culturally safe care, and you are interested in applying your clinical expertise to the development of trusted national guidance.
You have:
Experience in editing, guideline development or digital publishing would be highly regarded but is not essential.
Why join us?You will join an organisation with an exceptional team culture – we are deeply connected to our vision and the impact we have on Australian healthcare.
Our people are collaborative, purpose-driven and proud of the trust we’ve built over decades. We have achieved strong, sustained year-on-year results and are well placed to build on our strengths, broaden our reach and deepen our impact.
With an expanding portfolio of partnerships and digital products, this is your opportunity to be part of TGL’s evolution while also contributing to the rich history and exciting future of RPHCM.
TGL's head office in North Melbourne is close to the lively village precinct, and we offer a social, flexible and hybrid working environment where innovation, collaboration and personal growth are valued. Because we want this team to reflect the settings the manuals serve, we will also consider applicants based elsewhere in Australia, supported by remote working arrangements.
Employee benefits include:
Above all, we always put people first.
Does this sound like you?If you are excited about this opportunity and ready to make an impact on remote and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health care, we would love to hear from you.
(Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply). Therapeutic Guidelines Limited is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Please email your current CV and cover letter to the Program Director at *******@tg.org.au, quoting the job reference number SD08-CARPA1. Applications from recruiters will not be accepted.
Applications close 5pm, Friday 21 August 2026.
We encourage you to apply as soon as possible. Recruitment may close early if a suitable candidate is identified.
