TRUSTEE FOR SMPK CORPORATE UNIT TRUST ABN: 69287790991 are expanding rapidly and with increased volumes are looking for bakers and production workers.

About the business

We're the purveyors of QLD favourite doughnuts; 15 years and counting. We're a family-owned business with our production facility in Capalaba and we're looking to expand our Production team.

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for working with industrial bakery and fryer machinery. This includes mixers, proofers, blast-chillers and associated equipment. In this role some predictability can be expected in your shifts, successful candidates can expect two days off together & only one weekend day of work a week.

Your Duties may include:

• Checking the quality of raw material and weighing ingredients.
• Operating machines which roll and mold dough and cut biscuits.
• Emptying, cleaning and greasing baking trays, tins, cooking equipment and work area.
• Place pans in ovens and set oven temperature.
• Ensure that oven temperature is in accordance with the type of product being baked.
• Remove baked goods from the oven and place them on cooling racks.
• Making different types of customised cakes and cookies.
• Making different types of puff pastries.
• Preparing pastry fillings and monitoring the oven temperature and product appearance to determine baking times.
• Spread sprinkles and other decorations on baked goods.
• Prepare icing according to recipes and baked goods appropriately.
• Ensure appropriate storage of baking utensils and supplies and make sure that the baking equipment is cleaned and maintained properly.
• Clean display cases and replace near expiry baked products with fresh baked goods.
• Package baked goods appropriately and place pricing stickers.
• Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
• OH&S Duties include:
• Manage and facilitate a safe workplace in accordance with company guidelines.
• Provide appropriate training to all staff on all workplace equipment.
• Report all hazards to owners and proactively monitor the workplace for potential hazards.
• Maintaining our quality assurance and food safety standards
• Early starts with early finishes 5am to 1pm shifts. OT and weekend work available.

Skills and experience

• Must have completed Cert-III in Baking with at least 12 months of work experience as a professional Baker in a commercial bakery
• Work experience using industrial baking equipment: combi ovens, dough mixers, sheeters and experience in baking pastries, cakes, and specialty items including biscuits, puff patties, cream rolls are desirable.
• Effective English and good communication skills
• Excellent presentation and communication skills

Annual Salary (depending on experience/skills) between $75,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation.
