Reporting & Insights Analyst

Be responsible for accurate and timely reporting, building and maintaining data infrastructure, and transforming how reporting is accessed and used

The role

The purpose of this role is to sustain and elevate the analytics and reporting capabilities within the Marketing, Media and Acquisition (MMA) team and wider Growth Ops department at Auto & General. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of MMA's reporting cadence, building and maintaining the data infrastructure that underpins it, and transforming how reporting is accessed and used across the team. A key focus of the role is ensuring the team's analytical foundation is scalable, modern, and aligned to a broader AI-native operating model.

Position Accountabilities

• Own and manage the full MMA reporting cadence - daily, weekly, and end-of-month - ensuring all scheduled outputs are delivered accurately and on time, with rigorous quality assurance and reconciliation before distribution to senior stakeholders
• Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting reporting issues; diagnosing root causes, coordinating resolution across the team, and reissuing corrected reports promptly
• Turn around ad hoc analysis requests in a timely and high-quality manner, from targeted data pulls to full dashboard builds, in response to business needs across MMA and Growth Ops
• Develop, maintain, and continuously improve ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL and Google Cloud Platform, progressively migrating away from legacy tooling towards fully SQL-driven, scalable automation
• Build robust, reusable, and well-documented datasets in Google BigQuery to support multiple downstream reporting and analytics applications, maintaining data accuracy and reliability at source
• Design and maintain high-quality dashboards and visualisations in Tableau and Looker Studio that are intuitive, accurate, and aligned to the decision-making needs of MMA stakeholders - moving reporting capability beyond descriptive outputs towards interactive, self-service analytics
• Translate analytical findings into clear, concise recommendations that drive action, and champion the democratisation of analytics across MMA by training staff in best-practice insight generation and data interpretation
• Actively contribute to the team's migration from legacy automation workflows to AI-augmented, SQL-driven solutions within GCP - identifying and scoping opportunities where AI tools can reduce manual effort, improve turnaround times, or enhance output quality
• Embrace and develop fluency in AI-assisted analytics tooling - including LLM-assisted querying, automated reporting, and agentic workflow tools - and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement as the team evolves towards an AI-native operating model

What experience you’ll bring

Qualifications and Experience

• Proven ability to turn data into insights then action
• 2+ years experience with enterprise reporting platforms (preferably Tableau)
• Strong familiarity or experience with digital analytics solutions (i.e. Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics)
• Basic to Intermediate SQL skills; experience with Google BigQuery highly preferable
• Strong analytical & Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets skills
• Strong communication and business writing skills; ability to translate findings into recommendations
• Passion for digital marketing & analytics
• Outstanding ability to think creatively, identify and resolve problems
• Excellent analytical, organisational, and time management skills
• Experience with Tableau Prep or similar ETL tooling; ambition and aptitude to migrate towards SQL-based pipeline management in GCP
• Demonstrated interest in AI-assisted analytics, automation, or agentic workflow tooling

Familiarity or experience in some or all of the following will be very highly regarded:

• Google Marketing Platform (Google Analytics / GTM / Looker Studio (Google Data Studio) / SA360 / DV360)
• HTML / CSS / JavaScript / Python
• Google Cloud Platform
• Strong fluency or qualifications in data science, maths or statistics
• Working with a tag management solution (e.g. GTM / DTM / Tealium)
• Working with optimisation and testing solutions (e.g. Optimizely)
