Adviser, Policy & Integrity– VPS4 – Ongoing / Part time

What you’ll do
The Adviser, Policy & Integrity, role works in the Strategy, Policy, Integrity and First Peoples Branch. The branch is responsible for delivering a policy-related functions associated with the Commission’s key strategic areas which include but are not limited to capability, mobility, integrity and First Peoples. This role is in the Policy & Integrity team and provides policy advice across a range of areas and also supports the Commission's legislated integrity functions.

Key Accountabilities
The following accountabilities broadly define the role expectations of this position:

• Actively model the public sector values, contributing to a values-based culture through exemplary behaviour.
• Undertake policy research and analysis to inform the development of strategic policy, capability, integrity and/or First Peoples’ initiatives.
• Prepare and present accurate, concise, timely and relevant policy documentation, briefings, correspondence, submissions and reports to articulate complex concepts for a range of audiences including the Commissioner, VPSC executives and the Premier. 
• Contribute to building strong working relationships with other areas of VPSC and other key stakeholders to drive forward government policy and priorities, including by responding to email and phone inquiries relating to the work of the branch.
• Keep accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and VPSC policies.
• Take reasonable care for your own health and safety in the workplace by working in accordance with legislative requirements and the department policies and procedures.
• Actively model the public sector values, contributing to a values-based culture through exemplary behaviour.
• Perform a range of other duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, but within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this level.

Experience and qualifications
The successful candidate will have:

• A tertiary qualification in public policy or related disciplines, and/or experience in a similar role.  
• Public sector experience working in an integrity-related field will be highly regarded but is not essential.
