Panel Beater

Rod Bowen’s Prestige Smash Repairs is seeking an experienced and qualified Panel Beater to join our professional automotive repair team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality vehicle body repairs, ensuring vehicles are restored to manufacturer standards, safety requirements, and customer expectations.

This role requires a skilled tradesperson with strong experience in collision repairs, structural restoration and vehicle body repair processes.

Position Responsibilities

Repair and restore collision-damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, safety standards and appearance.

Complete structural and non-structural vehicle body repairs in accordance with manufacturer repair procedures.

Remove, repair, replace, and refit vehicle components including body panels, trims, seats, carpets and mechanical parts as required.

Conduct pre-repair inspections and diagnostic scanning (DTC scanning).

Disassemble vehicles according to repair instructions and job sheets.

Assess damaged components and identify suitable replacement parts.

Liaise with estimators regarding additional damage, supplementary parts and repair requirements.

Perform chassis alignment, measuring, welding, panel repairs and related restoration work.

Reassemble vehicles and complete quality control inspections.

Conduct post-repair inspections and diagnostic scanning.

Maintain a clean and organised work area while following workplace health and safety procedures.

Skills and Experience Required

Current trade qualification in Automotive Body Repair Technology or equivalent.

Minimum 1–2-year experience as a qualified Panel Beater. Demonstrated experience in insurance-based collision repairs. Ability to perform structural repairs, panel replacement, welding and vehicle restoration.

Experience using chassis alignment and vehicle measuring equipment.

Ability to interpret manufacturer repair procedures and technical documentation.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team.

Current Australian Driver Licence.
