About the role
About the service:
Victoria Psychological Assessment and Treatment Services (VPATS) has a multi-disciplinary team with various allied health professionals (e.g., Psychologist, Behaviour Support Practitioner). The purpose of a multi-disciplinary team is to provide a diverse range of assessment and treatment services for disability clients.
Our service mission is to support community members to improve their quality of life by strengthening their social connections and reducing the risk of engaging in concerning behaviours (e.g., aggression, violent and problematic sexual).
We achieve this by providing a safe space, and evidence and strength-based intervention.
VPATS provides services to people from general, culturally, and linguistically diverse (CALD) and disability backgrounds. Our clients range from 7 to 65 years of age. VPATS’ services and practice frameworks are in line with the Australian Psychological Society (e.g., Code of Ethics and Ethical Guidelines), Disability Act, 2006 (Victoria), and National Disability Insurance Act (NDIA, 2013).
About the Role:
We are seeking a full-time or part-time Provisional Psychologist/Behaviour Support Practitioner to deliver services to our clients, and their families, and to support teams by identifying their needs through assessment and intervention. This will include developing therapeutic goals and practical strategies to support clients in meeting their goals.
As a Provisional Psychologist/Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will be required to provide clinical knowledge, and expertise, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, to support individuals, families, and support staff.
A Provisional Psychologist/Behaviour Support Practitioner will have to complete assessments, diagnoses, and provision of support services and assistance in the development and evaluation of behaviour support and intervention programs. This role will require you to deliver psychological services under the supervision of Board Approved Supervisor.
Who Will You Report To:
The Provisional Psychologist/Behaviour Support Practitioner is part of the Clinical Team of VPATS. The role will require you to report directly to the Clinical Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
You are to provide clinical services such as assessments, diagnoses, interventions, consultations, training and intervention evaluations for clients referred.
