Adelaide’s Finest Supermarkets Pasadena is seeking a number of friendly, reliable and energetic Casual Deli Team Members to join our busy deli team.

This is a hands-on customer service and food preparation role suited to people who enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, take pride in quality and presentation, and can deliver warm and efficient service to our customers.

Successful candidates must be available to work approximately 20–25 hours per week across a flexible roster, including weekdays and weekends.

About the role

Reporting to the Deli Department Manager, you will assist with the preparation, presentation and sale of our premium deli and cheese products. You will also help maintain a clean, safe and well-stocked department throughout the day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing friendly, knowledgeable and efficient customer service

• Preparing, slicing, weighing, packaging and presenting deli products

• Safely operating commercial meat-slicing equipment

• Cutting and grating cheeses to the required standard (experience preferred but not essential)

• Preparing deli rolls and panini neatly, accurately and efficiently during busy periods

• Preparing deli and cheese platters with a strong focus on quality and presentation

• Replenishing displays and rotating stock in accordance with quality and food safety requirements

• Assisting with the department’s opening, closing and daily operational duties

• Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness

• Cleaning the deli area, including sweeping, mopping, wiping and sanitising surfaces and equipment

• Working collaboratively with the wider deli team to deliver an exceptional customer experience

What we’re looking for

We are looking for team members who can demonstrate:

• Ideally previous experience operating a commercial meat-slicing machine

• Previous deli, food retail or food preparation experience

• Cheese-cutting experience, although this is preferred rather than essential

• Strong attention to detail and pride in product presentation

• The ability to work quickly, accurately and calmly under pressure

• A friendly, helpful and customer-focused approach

• A sound understanding of food-safety and hygiene practices

• Reliability, initiative and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

• The physical capacity to safely lift, move and handle deli products and stock

• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and a range of opening and closing shifts

Availability

Applicants must have sufficient flexibility to work shifts across the department’s operating hours:

• Monday to Friday: shifts commencing from 6.30 am, with the store closing at 9.00 pm

• Saturday: shifts commencing from 6.30 am, with the store closing at 5.00 pm

• Sunday: shifts commencing from 8.00 am, with the store closing at 5.00 pm
