The Role
We are seeking an experienced Technical Lead to provide architecture leadership and technical delivery expertise within a secure government environment in Canberra.

This is a senior technical role responsible for defining solution architecture, governing technical designs, leading implementation teams, and ensuring the successful delivery of secure and scalable technology solutions. You will contribute to architecture governance, technical decision-making, delivery coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives across complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and maintain end-to-end solution architecture aligned to business outcomes and technical standards.
• Produce and govern high-level and detailed solution designs across all work packages.
• Ensure solution components integrate with existing enterprise platforms, patterns, and roadmaps.
• Support architecture reviews, technical decision-making, and design assurance activities.
• Lead technical implementation teams and coordinate delivery activities.
• Translate architectural designs into implementable technical solutions.
• Conduct code, configuration, and design reviews to ensure delivery quality and consistency.
• Identify technical dependencies, issues, and risks and drive their resolution.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance across project teams and stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement and Agile delivery initiatives.

What You'll Need

• Demonstrated experience leading solution architecture and technical delivery activities.
• Strong experience producing and governing solution, integration, and technical designs.
• Experience leading technical implementation teams and coordinating delivery activities.
• Strong understanding of enterprise architecture principles and governance frameworks.
• Experience conducting code reviews, design reviews, and technical quality assurance activities.
• Strong capability in identifying and managing technical risks, issues, and dependencies.
• Experience translating solution designs into practical and supportable implementations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and technical leadership skills.
• Experience in government, defence, or highly regulated environments would be highly regarded.
• Knowledge aligned to SFIA capabilities including BPRE5, STPL5, RLMT5, SWDN5, REQM5, DESN5, ARCH4, GOVN6, ITSP5, EMRG4, and INAS4 would be highly regarded.
