Experienced Forklift Driver – Villawood NSW

Niche Logistics is looking for an experienced Forklift Driver to join our busy Villawood depot. This is a hands on role suited to someone with strong experience working with container freight, linehaul, local PUD vehicles and general freight in a fast paced transport environment.

You will be responsible for loading and unloading rail containers, including rear entry and tautliner/curtain sided containers, staging freight, and loading/unloading local HR PUD and linehaul trucks.

This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:00pm.

Pay rate: $31.57 per hour plus penalty rates.

What you’ll be doing:

• Loading and unloading inbound and outbound freight from containers, linehaul trucks, local PUD vehicles, flatbeds and tautliner trailers.

• Handling general freight and container freight safely, accurately and efficiently in a busy depot environment.

• Staging freight for dispatch and ensuring freight is stored, grouped and prepared correctly.

• Checking freight condition, packaging and load restraint before transport.

• Using load restraint equipment, including straps and chains, and reporting any freight or equipment damage promptly.

• Maintaining a strong focus on safety, teamwork and assisting with general depot duties/manual handling when required.

What we’re looking for:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a busy transport depot or similar freight environment.

• Current forklift licence.

• Specific experience with general freight, container freight, curtain sided containers, HR trucks, linehaul vehicles and local PUD trucks.

• Confidence working with flatbed and tautliner trailers, including loading, unloading and load restraint.

• Strong attention to detail, reliable work ethic, can do attitude and a safety first mindset.

• Physically fit, willing to assist with manual lifting, and able to pass a pre employment medical, police check and provide recent work references.
