Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

About the role

Shannon & Shak Mechanical is seeking an experienced mobile Diesel Mechanic to join our team. This full-time position will see you working on a variety of diesel-powered vehicles, trailers, machinery and air brake systems, utilising your technical expertise to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

What you'll be doing

• Conducting routine maintenance and servicing of diesel engines, including oil changes, fluid top-ups and filter replacements

• Troubleshooting and diagnosing complex mechanical and electrical issues on diesel-powered equipment

• Repairing and rebuilding diesel engine components as required

• Liaising with clients to understand their specific needs and requirements

• Maintaining detailed records of all work performed

• Adhering to all safety protocols and procedures

What we're looking for

• Formal qualifications in Automotive Diesel Mechanics or a related field

• Extensive experience (5+ years) working as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in an onsite field service environment

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex issues

• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality workmanship

• Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team

• We are also looking for 3rd or 4th year apprentices
