About the Role

This is a great opportunity for an assistant accountant to join our finance team in this newly created position. Based at our Keysborough Head Office, you will play a key role in providing timely and accurate accounting support to assist in maintaining the integrity of our financial processes and reporting, gaining exposure to all areas of the finance department with tasks and responsibilities including -

• Performing bank reconciliations

• Sales Reporting

• Assist with preparing and processing month end journals including accruals and provisions to ensure timely financial reporting

• Assist with Balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring integrity of the general ledger

• Processing international supplier invoices and arranging timely payments

• Assist with Stock costings

• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost monitoring to achieve profit and revenue targets

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies

• Provide accurate ad-hoc reporting and analysis to support business needs

• Providing backup support for the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff and Payroll Processing when if needed

• Identify opportunities to improve accounting & month end processes, accuracy, and efficiency

• Assist with system, process or automation improvements / initiatives including the use of AI.

What you will need

• A minimum of two years’ experience in a finance-related role, with demonstrated experience relevant to the position.

• An accounting or finance qualification.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, with intermediate to advanced excel capabilities

• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics NAV or Business Central is highly desirable

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Demonstrated ability in problem-solving and process improvements, including the use of AI will be an advantage

• Confident, approachable and comfortable communicating verbally and written with people across the business

The benefits

Part Time 20-25 hours per week

Salary Range $75k - $85k annual FTE commensurate with experience

Office based role offering flexible working days / hours
