We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Production Team Leader to lead our production team in Dandenong, Victoria, focusing on safe and quality food.

This is a full-time role and an opportunity to become a leader in our Company.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and oversee daily production operations based on inventory levels and incoming stock

• Set up and manage packing lines and workforce to ensure efficient and smooth operations

• Manage rosters, workflow, and staffing allocation to minimise downtime, waste, and bottlenecks

• Ensure optimal use of labour and resources across production lines

• Supervise the use of processing and packing equipment while enforcing strict safety protocols

• Monitor and enforce quality control standards, including correct packing and labelling

• Oversee HACCP, food safety, and quality programs and maintain documentation for audits

• Record and report accurate production data daily to the Company Director

• Ensure clean, safe, and hygienic workspaces and equipment at all times

• Train and induct new team members on company procedures and safety practices

• Address staff issues and provide day-to-day leadership and direction to the team

• Champion workplace health and safety standards in line with company and legal requirements

• Some heavy lifting (up to 25kg) involved

Qualifications and skills

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience.

• Proven experience in the food manufacturing or processing industry

• Strong understanding of HACCP, ISO standards and the Food Standards Code

• Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements

• Hands-on experience with packing machinery and line operations (experience with colour sorting machines is highly regarded)

• Demonstrated leadership experience managing production and/or warehouse teams

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills

• A proactive, can-do attitude with attention to detail

Remuneration and benefits:

• Full time position

• $90,000 gross annual salary (including superannuation)
