We're looking for an experienced Surface Electrician to join our Surface Maintenance Team.

This role is responsible for undertaking scheduled maintenance, repairs, and installations within the Process Plant and associated infrastructure.

What you'll be doing

• Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with statutory, regulatory and to NQM Gold's standards and specifications.
• Performance test equipment before signing off to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Maintain all electrical equipment in the process plant, WTP, STP, relative booster stations and tails storage facilities.
• Inspect, service, adjust, troubleshoot, and repair plant equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Complete assigned work and associated paperwork.
• Conduct breakdown and PM checks as required.
• Carry out operational checks as per shutdown checklist to ensure equipment is running on SCADA.
• Supervise the work of electrical contractors when engaged to carry out work on site.
• Be proactive in identifying and reporting potential hazards and eliminating risk taking behaviours or actions.
• Ensure good clear communication lines within team and with other sections/departments.
• Actively promote continuous improvement to improve safety, improve operational efficiencies and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with environmental procedures and standards.
• Always maintain the highest standard of housekeeping through continuous review and management of work area daily.
• Contribute to continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve work safety, practices, and procedures.
• Support the Supervisor by participating in root cause analysis activities.
• Ensure good clear communication lines within team and with other sections/departments.

What we're looking for

• 3 years' experience in heavy industry maintenance & installation (preferably gold mining)

• Relevant trade qualifications, preferably with a demonstrated track record in mining related electrical work

• Experience with Pumping Systems & Power Generation
• High voltage switching & permitting systems
• Flexibility to perform a wide range of tasks within a small maintenance team
• Instrumentation competencies and training
• Effective Communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to prioritise and schedule work
• Delivering Results and Meeting Expectations
• Adhering to Work and Safety Standards
