What is our Nurse Manger role?

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing an evidence based and efficient nursing and midwifery corporate nurse manager function. The position holder influences the practice of midwifery and nursing within the health service and demonstrates leadership in the promotion of a positive workplace culture. Areas of accountability will include the provision of leadership, standard setting and monitoring, policy development and change management to ensure clinical best
practice in line with the core values of the organisation

  • Demonstrated advanced leadership consistent with organisational values and behaviour.
  • Demonstrated significant knowledge, experience and leadership in Nursing and Midwifery financial, material and workforce management, including nursing establishment, rostering practices, recruitment, and personnel development.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written.
• A detailed Resume which sets out your qualifications, capabilities and experience relevant to this position.
• References - the names and contact details of two (2) referees. It is preferable for one of your referees to have been a recent supervisor.

Applicants must ensure their nominated referees are available to provide references when requested, as failure to do so may result in them being deemed unsuitable.

Eligibility to Apply: To be suitable for appointment you must have documentary evidence of your entitlement to live and work in Australia.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other "similar" vacancies throughout the health service or the wider public service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of twelve (12) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.
