Senior Civil Designer – Building Services Brisbane CBD / Hybrid | Competitive Salary + Super + Performance Bonus

A leading multidisciplinary Building Services Engineering consultancy in Brisbane is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Designer to join our growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on high-profile commercial, residential, mixed-use, and infrastructure projects across South East Queensland.

As a Senior Civil Designer, you will play a key role in delivering integrated civil and external works design solutions that support our core mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fire engineering services.

You’ll collaborate closely with architects, developers, and local councils to create functional, sustainable, and compliant site infrastructure.

About the Role

You will be responsible for the detailed design and documentation of civil engineering elements for building developments, including:

• Site grading and earthworks
• Pavement design and car parking layouts
• Stormwater drainage systems and detention/retention basins
• External hydraulic services (including sewer and water reticulation)
• Road and access design
• Sediment and erosion control
• Utility coordination and service alignments

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil design drawings, specifications, and documentation using AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Undertake civil calculations, modelling, and compliance checks with Brisbane City Council, Queensland Urban Drainage Manual (QUDM), and relevant Australian Standards
• Coordinate with internal MEP and hydraulic teams to ensure seamless integration of building services with external civil works
• Conduct site inspections, site measurements, and construction support
• Contribute to tender and contract documentation
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior civil designers and drafters

What You’ll Bring

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Civil Design (or equivalent)
• 7+ years’ experience as a Civil Designer, with strong exposure to building developments and external works
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Solid understanding of Brisbane City Council planning and infrastructure requirements, QUDM, and IPWEA guidelines
• Experience working on commercial, high-density residential, or mixed-use projects in South East Queensland
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
• Current Australian working rights
