Senior Maintenance Fabricator

Gundagai Meat Processors (GMP) is a dynamic meat processing business owned and operated by the Barton family for over 50 years. Ideally located halfway between Sydney and Melbourne on the Hume Highway in the Riverina - a prime lamb growing region.

We have an exciting opportunity for a qualified senior tradesperson to join our Maintenance team.  GMP has a purpose-built modern maintenance shed for the team that makes working enjoyable, whilst working with a top team of individuals. Key Responsibilities:

• Scheduled plant/ equipment upgrade work

• Continuous Improvement tasks

• Respond to breakdowns as required

• Repairing and servicing faulty equipment/structure

• Lead a small, dedicated fabrication team

• Strong organisational and leadership skills

• Follow WHS and QA policies and procedures

• Work alongside multiple trades in a close team environment

• Arc, MIG and TIG Welding experience (90% of work is stainless steel)

• Identify workplace improvements

Position Requirements:

• Certificate III – Engineering Fabrication (minimum)

• Experience in TIG welding (stainless steel)

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory/leadership role

• A great attitude, proactive nature, and great problem-solving skills.

• Organised with attention to detail and a good work ethic.

• Strong communication skills – verbal and written.

• Able to work independently and in a team environment.

• Willingness to learn and upskill.

• Current C class driver’s license.

• Available to work overtime, weekends (where required) duties.
