Task & responsibilities Key Duties and Responsibilities Researching, identifying and recommending new engineering technologies to support the company's engineering and manufacturing activities. Analysing existing engineering technologies used within the company's operations and identifying opportunities for technical improvement and modification.
Modifying and adapting existing engineering technologies to improve their efficiency, effectiveness, reliability and operational performance. Collaborating with engineers and other technical professionals to develop and implement engineering solutions appropriate to the company's operational requirements. Applying engineering technologies in the testing and implementation of engineering projects undertaken within the company's manufacturing and coating operations.
Conducting experiments, technical trials and tests to evaluate the performance, effectiveness and suitability of new and existing engineering technologies. Analysing technical data and test results to assess the performance of engineering technologies and recommend appropriate modifications or improvements. Evaluating new engineering technologies, systems and technical methods for their suitability and potential application within the company's operations.
Developing technical recommendations for the introduction, modification and implementation of engineering technologies based on engineering analysis and testing outcomes. Participating in engineering projects involving the introduction, testing and implementation of new or modified engineering technologies and systems. Investigating engineering and operational problems and applying engineering technology principles to develop appropriate technical solutions.
Conducting technical inspections to ensure engineering technologies are applied in accordance with relevant regulations, engineering standards, specifications and quality requirements. Monitoring and evaluating the performance of newly implemented or modified engineering technologies to ensure required technical and operational outcomes are achieved. Preparing technical reports and maintaining documentation relating to engineering technology research, testing, evaluation, modification and implementation activities.
Providing technical advice and recommendations to management and relevant operational personnel regarding the selection, application and improvement of engineering technologies. Qualification & experience Skills and Experience Bachelor degree or higher qualification in Engineering Technology, Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline. Relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification of minimum 1 year.
Strong knowledge and understanding of engineering technologies and their application in engineering and manufacturing environments. Demonstrated ability to analyse, evaluate and modify new and existing engineering technologies. Ability to research and assess engineering technologies and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
Demonstrated ability to conduct technical experiments, trials and testing to evaluate engineering technology performance. Strong analytical, technical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical data and testing outcomes. Ability to apply engineering principles and technologies in the testing and implementation of engineering projects.
Ability to work collaboratively with engineers and other technical professionals in developing and implementing engineering solutions. Sound understanding of relevant engineering standards, regulations, specifications and quality requirements. Strong technical reporting, documentation and communication skills.
