Technical Sales and Warehousing

About the role

We're looking for someone with demonstrated experience in electro-technology to join our O'Connor team on an immediate-start basis. The role requires excellent comminications skills, a solid technical understanding of electrical terminologies, as you'll be in direct, day-to-day contact with electrical engineering clients. It's a varied position combining technical sales, customer service and warehousing — a great fit for someone who enjoys variety and wants to build a long-term career with a specialist industry leader.

Key responsibilities

• Provide customer service and sales support via telephone and over the counter, including product information and assistance

• Accurately and promptly enter orders, invoices and purchase orders into the accounting system

• Process, pick, pack and dispatch customer orders

• Coordinate and book transport and couriers

• Load and unload trucks using manual and materials handling equipment

• Receive and check incoming goods against purchase orders

• Manage inventory and stock control

• Maintain and grow relationships with our existing customer network

• Actively pursue new business and sales opportunities

• Construct and fabricate company-specific product assemblies

About you

• Excellent customer service skills

• Strong computer literacy, including Word, Excel, Outlook and MYOB

• A formal qualification (Certificate, Diploma or Degree) in electrotechnology is desirable, although candidates with a background in electrical wholesaling, electrical distribution or electronics/IT are strongly encouraged to apply

• Able to safely handle heavy materials within workplace safety guidelines

• A forklift licence is an advantage but not essential — training can be arranged

• A current Australian driver's licence

• Self-motivated, with the initiative to work well unsupervised

• Well-presented and energetic, with demonstrated problem-solving ability through your employment history
