About the role
Property & Facilities Division.
Full-time, continuing position.
Base salary will be in the range $106,709 - $116,198 + 17% super (HEW Level 7).
Based at our St Lucia campus.
Join a visionary and purpose-driven team within UQ’s Property and Facilities Division, where you will help shape the future of critical infrastructure across one of Australia’s leading universities. As the Senior Electrical Infrastructure Engineer, you will provide strategic leadership for the planning, augmentation, governance and lifecycle management of electrical infrastructure across UQ’s campuses. Working within a collaborative and highly skilled Infrastructure & Sustainability team, you will influence long-term asset decisions that support world-class research, teaching and community outcomes.
Key responsibilities will include:
Driving strategic asset management activities for electrical infrastructure, including lifecycle planning, forecasting, replacement programs and infrastructure optimisation.
Providing expert technical leadership and subject matter expertise across electrical engineering systems, design reviews, construction inspections and infrastructure governance.
Developing and maintaining electrical engineering standards, policies and procedures to support safe, reliable and sustainable infrastructure outcomes.
Supporting capital works, asset replacement and campus development programs through planning, stakeholder engagement, technical review and project oversight.
Qualifications and training equivalent to a Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical) and extensive relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Experience in strategic asset management of electrical infrastructure, including utilisation forecasting, lifecycle replacement planning and infrastructure augmentation.
Advanced knowledge of electrical engineering systems, including the ability to undertake technical reviews, prepare briefs, conduct inspections and resolve complex infrastructure issues.
Strong understanding and application of Workplace Health and Safety legislation and associated compliance requirements.
Demonstrated financial management capability, including budget preparation, monitoring and project planning.
Experience working with energy management systems and electrical facilities management technologies.
Exceptional communication, consultation and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence diverse audiences and present complex information clearly.
Experience coordinating stakeholders, driving continuous improvement and building strong professional relationships.
