About the role

The successful applicant will be working with tradesmen in factory and on site installations.  He or she will work alongside current tradesmen  or trades assistants using supplied drawings, to install stainless steel handrails, steel balustrades, steel stair cases and glass balustrades. The successful applicant will possess strong communication and problem solving skills, and the ability to be adaptable and flexible in an ever changing work environment.   The successful applicant must be able to communicate with builders and other workers in a team environment, working thoroughly yet efficiently to meet deadlines.  The successful applicant must  have a keen eye for detail and take pride in their work.  We are looking for a 2nd or 3rd year apprentice currently enrolled in Certificate III in Engineering Fabrication Trade.

Upon completion of your Apprenticeship, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills in the following areas

- Steel Fabrication, Machining, & Lathe work

- Glass installation , Balustrading

- Carpentry and Joinery skills

- 3D modelling Drafting and Cad drawing

Skills and experience

We are preferably looking for a 2nd or 3rd year apprentice who has some experience interpreting shop drawings with some basic fabrication experience.

The successful applicant will learn the following skills and experience:

• Welding skills, including Tig, Mig, Stick and Oxy

• Carpentry skills

• The ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, with an eye for detail

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with an ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing work environments

• Well developed problem solving skills, with an ability to work efficiently to meet job deadlines
