Plant & Machinery Maintenance Assistant

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced maintenance assistant to join our rapidly growing Civil Construction company. Owning over 50 pieces of heavy machinery as well as over 40 light vehicles, this role is imperative to the business to ensure scheduling, maintenance and coordination of our fleet is managed efficiently. 

The Role: 

• Full Time, Permanent Role

• Location: Yatala, Gold Coast & Surrounding Areas 

• Company vehicle 

About the Company: 

Stratum civil is a leading civil construction company carrying out projects across South East Queensland. We have expanded our fleet of mobile plant immensely over the last few years and require a competent person to manage plant between current and future projects and maintain them in a basic capacity.

Responsibilities: 

• Minor onsite maintenance and repaires to all plant within the business

• Complete regular mechanical and quality checks on all equipment

• Ensure fleet is maintained and safe to operate. to ensure that these remain tidy, safe, clean and in good working order.

• Coordinate and maintain light vehicles – Approx. 30

• Ensure all vehicles are maintained and safe to operate, cleaned regularly, and any defects rectified

 Requirements:

• Proven experience in a similar role working in/around heavy equipment and mobile plant 

• Ability to work effectively and take full ownership of the role

• Strong team player and ability to communicate effectively with all members of staff and subcontracts

• Able to engage in proactive behavior and exercise initiative, managing time and multiple plant at once. 

• Attention to detail and organizational skills 

• Construction card, manual drivers licence and HR licence is preferred. 

• A demonstrable understanding of safe working practices as they relate to the type of work to be performed.
