About the role
Introduction:
About Us
CC Pines is an Australian-owned, family-founded construction company with a 45-year track record of delivering complex, high-risk projects that other contractors won't touch, from embassy builds in Morocco to Defence infrastructure across the Pacific. We work with the Australian Department of Defence, DFAT, and the US Department of Defence, and we've never had a reportable safety incident. We're big enough to run world-class projects, small enough that your voice actually gets heard.
Our values, humble, hungry, smart, aren't a poster on the wall. They're how we pick our people and how we run our projects.
CC Pines is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Sydney team and support the electrical scope on our project in Honiara, Solomon Islands. You'll be Sydney based day to day, with regular trips to site, so you get the best of both worlds: home comforts during the week, and hands-on island project work when it counts.
A Bit About Honiara
Honiara is the capital of the Solomon Islands, a laid-back, English-speaking Pacific city set among lagoons, rainforest and some of the best diving in the world. It's steeped in history too, this is where the Battle of Guadalcanal took place, and WWII wreck sites are still a drawcard for divers and history buffs alike. Site trips come with a genuine change of pace from Sydney: warm climate year-round, a relaxed island rhythm, and a small community where you'll get to know the project and the people properly, not just fly in and out anonymously.
If you want your CV to include "delivered electrical works in the South Pacific," not just another suburban fit-out, this one's for you.
Description:
The Role
As Electrical Engineer, you'll take ownership of the communications and dry fire design, coordination and delivery for our Honiara project, working closely with the Project Manager and site team to make sure the electrical scope is safe, compliant and delivered on program. You'll split your time between Sydney based design and coordination work, and site visits to Honiara to oversee installation, resolve issues, and keep the project moving.
What you'll be doing:
Leading communications and dry fire, shop design and engineering for the Honiara project, from IFC through to as-built Coordinating with the Project Manager, Services Manager and subcontractors to keep electrical works on program and on spec Reviewing and approving electrical drawings, specifications and contractor submissions Travelling to site in Honiara as required to inspect works, troubleshoot issues and support commissioning Identifying risks early and working through practical solutions, including for the logistics of an offshore site Ensuring electrical works meet relevant Australian and international standards, plus local regulatory requirements Reporting progress and technical updates to the Project Manager and wider project team Owning the procurement package of electrical, comms and dry fire services - materials and labor
Skills and Experiences:
What We're Looking For
Degree qualified Electrical Engineer, with experience across design, construction, or a mix of both Experience on construction or infrastructure projects, ideally including remote, offshore, or international sites Comfortable working across time zones and coordinating with teams who aren't in the room Strong problem-solving skills and the flexibility to adapt when island logistics don't go to plan Solid communication skills, both technical and plain English, for working with a range of stakeholders Willingness and ability to travel internationally for site visits, including a valid passport
