HR Generalist (part-time)

Procurement Australia is seeking an experienced and proactive HR Generalist to join our team in a flexible part-time role (up to 22 hours per week). This is an exciting opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is passionate about supporting leaders and employees across the full employee lifecycle.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll play a key role in delivering practical HR solutions, supporting organisational culture, and ensuring our people practices remain compliant, efficient and aligned with business objectives.

This is a hands-on generalist position supporting leaders across the organisation with day-to-day HR operations while contributing to broader people initiatives. You'll work across recruitment, employee relations, HR systems, learning and development, culture, compliance and people administration.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys partnering with managers, improving processes and helping create a positive employee experience.

You'll be responsible for:

• Providing practical HR advice and support to managers and employees.

• Coordinating recruitment activities from advertising through to onboarding.

• Supporting performance and development processes, probation management and employment documentation.

• Maintaining employee records and HR systems (Employment Hero).

• Assisting with employee relations matters and coordinating external employment law advice where required.

• Supporting learning and development initiatives and workforce capability planning.

• Coordinating employee engagement initiatives and contributing to a positive organisational culture.

• Assisting with HR policy development, compliance and continuous improvement.

• Supporting people-related reporting and HR administration across the organisation.

We're looking for someone who brings sound HR knowledge together with excellent organisational and relationship-building skills.

You'll have:

• Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline.

• At least three years' experience in an HR Generalist, HR Coordinator or HR Advisor role.

• A strong understanding of Australian employment legislation and HR best practice.

• Experience supporting recruitment, employee lifecycle administration and HR systems.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• The ability to build trusted relationships with managers and employees at all levels.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

• High levels of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality.

• A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and practical problem solving.

• Experience using Employment Hero will be highly regarded.
