KEMA Care Pty Ltd' is seeking a passionate and experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team in Northern Suburbs, VIC. In this casual role, you will play a vital part in supporting individuals with disabilities and eldery people helping them to achieve their personal goals and live independently within the community. With a focus on providing high-quality, person-centred care, this is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our clients.
What you'll be doing
Assisting clients with daily living activities
Hoist and other manual hadling
Engaging clients in social, recreational, and educational activities to promote their wellbeing and community participation
Providing emotional and behavioural support, and helping clients develop essential life skills
Collaborating with the client's support network, including families, carers, and healthcare professionals, to ensure a holistic approach to care
Maintaining detailed records and documentation to track client progress and support needs
Adhering to all relevant policies, procedures, and safety protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients and staff
What we're looking for
A relevant qualification in Individual support
Minimum Certificate IIl level qualification
Experience providing person-centred support to individuals with a range of disabilities, including physical, intellectual, and/or mental health challenges
Applicants should have experience supporting individuals with any combination of physical disabilities, intellectual disabilities, and mental health challenges
Minimum 2 years of experience in disability support services is required
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with clients, families, and the broader support network
A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach, with a genuine interest in improving the lives of people with disabilities
The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, while adhering to organisational policies and procedures
A current driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle (desirable)
Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check are both required
Valid Australian work visa or work rights are required for this position
